How will we work together?

My aim is to give your special person one of the most wonderful gifts he or she will ever receive but in order to do so, a certain amount of organization is required. Please note the following:

I need one person who will be my contact. This may be you or someone else.  All my dealings will be with that one person so he or she should have the approval of the family or group to liaise with me on their behalf.

My contact will be the person required to sign for acceptance of my terms and conditions and will be the person responsible for paying me. I require a down payment of £750 before I begin work. The remaining £1,750 should be paid one week prior to delivery of the book.

He or she should give me a list of the people who will contribute to the biography and give them my
email address: Lovina@yourstory-biographies.co.uk and/or my telephone no. 07721777243 to get in touch with me. I am also on Skype, tel. no. 01738 626234 which is a very helpful way for me to interview people at a distance.

Given that time is of the essence, I’d like them to get in touch within 3 weeks of our contract beginning.

My contact should also be the person who gathers photographs and sends them to me. He or she will choose the presentation box, the binding and fly–leaves for the book as well as well as checking and signing-off the proofs of my writing and the selection of photographs to be included in the biography.   

The writing process and selection of photographs should normally take no longer than 4 weeks.  Thereafter the checking of proofs, printing and  binding should normally take a further 4-6 weeks. So the process should take an average of 10 weeks from the signing of the contract to delivery of the completed book but this timescale cannot be guaranteed. Prompt responses to requests for information or assistance will greatly help the production and delivery of the completed biography.

Indeed significant delays might incur more costs: printers and bookbinders have strict print and production runs.

No-one likes too much regulation but I am sure that you will see the sense of my organization and relax in the knowledge that, working together, we will produce a priceless gift.
